Today it snowed when we are having our lesson! Hence, we started with rounds and rounds of trotting to warm up.
Rachel took over our class and I am happy that improver class has shifted earlier, reducing the sufferings of darkness and coldness :P
I grabbed Oslo the second I saw him at the gate waiting to go in. Yes! I am just more confident riding him as I know I wont fall and he will never be mad. LOL
We did try standing up today while walking and trotting to develop individual balancing so that we wont tripped over if the horse loses its balance. I did quite well on that and Oslo's thick mane is just so helpful. This is because we were told to hold the horses' mane to help us on standing up instead of applying force on reins. So, Oslo's thick mane is able to provide good grip :P
Then, we did again the walking and sitting trot without stirrup to help us to sit more into the saddle and we should feel that the stirrups are shorter after that. I wasn't that able to sit in and put my legs really down, maybe due to my habit of rising on stirrups when trotting.
Oh.. and finally today, I learned how to not letting my stirrups to slip forward when trotting. It always irritates me as this causes rising to be hard and just weird. Rachel told me to put the heel down and after a while, it really becomes better ^^
Then, we did 4 times of cantering but this time around with more controls. We started with sitting trot, then ask for cantering at the first corner, go back to trotting on the next corner and stop the horse to walking in between 2nd corner and 3rd corner. She said we need to put the outside leg back and kick using inside leg to ask for cantering but I just cant figure it out how so I just did the normal way I do (which I think is wrong now :P). But, today cantering is good. I get into proper canters even though the distance allowed is still short ;)
And, the best thing is Rachel praised me for my position! She said 'You have a lovely position there. Do you come for private lessons?' Hoho.. So SS now :P =D
I got my hoodie and gloves too just now. Dun like the hoodie . TOo big and poor quality compared to last year. The gloves are good, it fits well and come in a resealable bag so can dump it in the bag everytime after using without contaminating other things.
